Christmas Wrap-Up

I had the world's best Christmas this year. There was much eating of food, many games played and much time spent relaxing. The last one was my favorite. With two weeks off of work I slept in and bothered Brysen as much as I could. He probably didn’t like my bothering-ness but I enjoyed myself. When I wasn’t terrorizing Brysen I was all over Christmas-related things! I helped my mom make way too many chocolate covered pretzels, I sang Christmas songs as loud as I could in my car and I watched The Polar Express far too many times in three days.

Even though Brysen decided to be stingy and spend Christmas with his own family (how rude, right?!?!) Eric came over and spent Christmas with us. He was really sweet and thoughtful by buying everyone a small present in the family. For me he decided to stuff a box completely full of confetti. I am not exaggerating when I say there was confetti everywhere. We are still finding some now. Brysen finally drove down to Magna that evening and we spent the rest of Christmas together. I gave him his awesome gifts and then he gifted me with an even more awesome gift, a new ipod touch! I was thrilled! He also got me some batman clothes, which are insanely comfortable. I guess I’ll keep him around.

Warning: here is the whiney part of my post. If you do not want to hear any whining I suggest you stop reading.
Brysen had to work on New Years Eve because his boss apparently hates him for some unknown reason. This means that I had to spend my New Years alone, without him. Technically I was with my family and we had a blast but I still really missed Brysen. I was very upset that I was not going to get a kiss at midnight. I spent about half my night whining about Brysen and how much I hated his job. I’m pretty sure my family was getting sick of hearing my voice, but then he called me from work so I was happy again.

Have a great New Year!!

Car Wars

A few months ago I purchased my very first car. I love my car. Sure, the heater didn't work but I didn't care. I had a perfectly good car. Then, one fine fall evening, my very own mother decided that she would back into this perfect car of mine. Thus began the car wars.

Since my car had a lovely scratch all the way down the passenger side of it I had to take it into the shop to get it fixed. I didn't have a problem with this as my mom's insurance company was paying for all the repairs as well as for my rental car. For about a week and a half I drove around a 2011 Jetta Volkswagon, hating it until the last four days. Then I got my beautiful car back, all nice and shiny.

When the people had fixed my car they had to take the doors off. This caused my airbag light to come on and not turn off. So I had people driving from Midvale to Magna to fix this minor detail several different times in order to reset the car. Still, it wasn't a big deal since my mom was footing the bill. Brysen then decided that I needed to get my heater fixed as winter is a rather cold season. I agreed because he convinced me that it would be an easy, quick fix. He lied. My car was in another shop for several days when I found out my car repair would cost me $1,000. I was hesitant but decided I prefer a warm car to a freezing one.

The nice man fixed my heater for me, something I am very grateful for. However, he did something that kept my brake lights on permanently. They wouldn't turn off until I pulled the fuse out or disconnected my battery. So I brought my car back and had them fix that for me. Then I was told my windshield washer-fluid pump was broken and needed to be replaced. After another few days I finally had my car back in fully operating condition. All in all my car has spent more time getting ripped apart and put back together than it has spent sitting in anyone's driveway.

Now I am very broke but very warm as I drive around. I figure that's a pretty even trade. I think Brysen is even more grateful than I am because, as he so lovingly (or not so lovingly) puts it, I don't have to complain about being cold in my car anymore. Anyways, sorry for the long and boring post but I just felt like sharing. Have a nice life!

October Festivities

I don't know about anyone else but I find myself wondering "Self, why has this month gone by so fast?" It's completely true! This month has gone by so quickly that it makes my head spin! I can't complain though, I have had a rather awesome October this year. Here is just a few things I've done:
1. I celebrated my one year anniversary with Brysen

The Cake he bought me! It's so cute!

At the Corn Maze

2. I bought myself a new car! Okay, so that might have happened at the very end of September and it may have been a used car but who cares? I have a car now!!! With no payments either! I am very thrilled about this last piece.

3. Last weekend I convinced my sister and her boyfriend to go on a double date with me and Brysen. We had so much fun! We rode the rides until we were sick (unless you're Brysen and you never get sick. But that's another story for later), we went through the Haunted Houses and just relaxed and had fun.

I guess that's it really. I officially live in Ogden over the weekends and it's a nice arrangement. I get to invade and take over Brysen's 'Man Cave' and sleep for as long as I want. I don't have to do any chores and Brysen spoils me rotten. He keeps telling me things will be different once we're married but I don't believe him. :)

That's all for now folks! Have a Happy Halloween!

Waterfall Canyon Adventures

In all 100% honesty, I had an incredibly awesome weekend with my man! Here I was, moping around because it was Saturday and I wasn’t with Brysen yet when he had a full day of awesome adventures planned. After picking me up at the train station we made a pit stop for some food since I was starving before we headed to our first destination, Waterfall Canyon!

It was super pretty and fun hiking up the canyon, even if I did try to give myself a concussion (in my defense I was watching my feet and trying not to twist my ankle instead of wondering what was right above me head). We found some cool little spots to take pictures before we made it to the actual waterfall.

Once we were there we played around for a bit and took a few more pictures of us we took about fifty pictures of a cute caterpillar that Brysen found. It decided to chill out and eat our snack with us. Brysen was okay with that since he had orange antenna thingys. By then it was time to start our trek back to the car; it was extremely uneventful for me since I didn’t get another concussion.

We showered since we stunk before we went on our next adventure for the night. We went to Famous Dave’s with Kip, Jacki, Colton and Teresa! We all made fun of Brysen so I thoroughly enjoyed myself. It was nice to get out with his friends without having little children get in the way. Don’t get me wrong, I love kids but when I spend all day with them I look forward to adult socials without them so much more.

Dinner was fun and filling so everyone headed over to Kip and Jacki’s for a rousing game of Phase Ten. It was hilarious watching six adults grow loopier as the night wore on. We finished our game after 1 a.m and then Brysen and I headed home closer to 2.

Sunday we went to church, made cookies and just played games with his family. So basically we were too lazy to go out in public but I was totally fine with that. That’s all for now!
